Current Phase: Preseason Film Evaluating/Preseason Lists

Now that all FBS schools have been properly studied and that the profiles have been built for all draft-eligible prospects of interest, it’s time to add any preseason notes from All-Star games, preseason grades from advanced scouts, and do the film work on the players to set up what needs to be seen in 2024.

Today was the release of the Shrine Bowl 1000, which documentations on player profiles have begun. Here’s what the last couple of weeks of updates have looked like:

We’ve been tracking how many profiles there are by position. The positional counts give you an idea of the depth and magnitude of the guide. If you look at large numbers of players, the best players stick out like sore thumbs. That’s the idea behind the scope of work that I do for this guide.

Plans This Week

A whole lot of work is planned this week to update the Shrine Bowl 1000 to all profiles and really dive through some of the Group of Five conference films.

As we get closer to August, a lot of the work with start to tune into the week 0 matchups on August 24th:

3:00 CT – Montana State @ New Mexico (FS1)
7:00 CT – SMU @ Nevada (CBSSN)

For now, though, it’s about continuing to find the best players in the country entering the season for each position group, and completing those lists and write-ups.
